I'm going to the MySQL conference which brings me to San Jose in a bit.  Any chance that we can set up a hangout in/near San Francisco for Fri Apr 27 or Sat Apr 28?

... if you ditch San Jose and instead travel to LA or Ontario or similar during those days.

I may not make it...I spent all last Saturday helping someone move and have already signed up for the Husi Diablo climb on May 5th. I'm not sure I can bail on my wife another evening in this timeframe... :-(

Hell maybe you can even get mns out of his new suburban paradise.

When I'm imprisoned as an enemy combatant, will you blog about it?

Sub-urban? by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #7 Mon Apr 09, 2007 at 02:57:39 AM EST

Downtown San Jose REPRESENT!

that's not a downtown by MillMan (4.00 / 1) #9 Mon Apr 09, 2007 at 12:38:15 PM EST
it's two 10 story office buildings.

Actual black people live in San Jose. I rest my case.

A whopping 8 percent, it seems by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #14 Tue Apr 10, 2007 at 02:22:28 PM EST

That's a pretty tiny population size, compared to, say, Raleigh, NC, New Orleans, LA, Detroit, MI, or Oakland, CA. Minus any hyperbole that could be interpreted as attempted statement of fact, what I'm saying is this: San Francisco is painfully white.

Painfully white? by ucblockhead (2.00 / 0) #15 Sun Apr 22, 2007 at 09:45:00 PM EST
Whites are in a minority there. (Well...49.66%, but a minority is a minority.)

Is the word 'painfully' by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #17 Mon Apr 23, 2007 at 11:55:58 AM EST

a synonym for "predominantly" or "comprised mainly of"?

Or, more precisely, would you say that whitey dominates San Francisco, culturally and economically, or that it's some other group? Also, when no other group exceeds your group, you're still the "majority". Thus, factually, had I stated that San Francisco's Caucazoidal population was a majority, that would have been correct. The term for this is "minority-majority". However, I never said that, so this is all tangential to my comment.

The truth is that your just one of those people who thinks "minority" and "black" are equal sets.

If you say so! by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #19 Mon Apr 23, 2007 at 12:01:14 PM EST

Please compile a list of the other things I believe, as well, so that I can print it out and refer to it when asked any questions about my beliefs. Having to sort these things out by myself is just too much for my fragile, little mind.

  3. On that note, eager-to-please young women with a bit of an overbite are probably the best bet.
...
  1. I need a Masonic-type-symbol tattoo!
  2. Also, I need to go visit SimAntix and make them French Toast again.
...
  1. Paroxetine is a broad-spectrum antibiotic.
  2. Theantix's political view exist for my personal amusement.
  3. Ashing in the street should be acceptable to everyone, goddamnit.
...
  1. BEEF GOOD
  2. GUINNESS GOOD
  3. No-wipers also good, but difficult to reconcile with the above
...
44. Of creatures with fleas, puppies are way more deserving of my tax dollars than the poor.

There is a small oval pond near my house.  At either end you could almost call them bays.  Despite knowing better I am heartbroken you’re not talking about either of those bays.

Although then, I'd question exactly what sort of MySQL conference would be held there, and tell you to avoid it because it is probably an attempt to rob you.

Also, ph33r t3h ISG!
