but lots of black people live in the san francisco I know.

If television is a babysitter, the internet is a drunk librarian who won't shut up.

A whopping 8 percent, it seems by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #14 Tue Apr 10, 2007 at 02:22:28 PM EST

That's a pretty tiny population size, compared to, say, Raleigh, NC, New Orleans, LA, Detroit, MI, or Oakland, CA. Minus any hyperbole that could be interpreted as attempted statement of fact, what I'm saying is this: San Francisco is painfully white.

Painfully white? by ucblockhead (2.00 / 0) #15 Sun Apr 22, 2007 at 09:45:00 PM EST
Whites are in a minority there. (Well...49.66%, but a minority is a minority.)

Is the word 'painfully' by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #17 Mon Apr 23, 2007 at 11:55:58 AM EST

a synonym for "predominantly" or "comprised mainly of"?

Or, more precisely, would you say that whitey dominates San Francisco, culturally and economically, or that it's some other group? Also, when no other group exceeds your group, you're still the "majority". Thus, factually, had I stated that San Francisco's Caucazoidal population was a majority, that would have been correct. The term for this is "minority-majority". However, I never said that, so this is all tangential to my comment.

The truth is that your just one of those people who thinks "minority" and "black" are equal sets.

If you say so! by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #19 Mon Apr 23, 2007 at 12:01:14 PM EST

Please compile a list of the other things I believe, as well, so that I can print it out and refer to it when asked any questions about my beliefs. Having to sort these things out by myself is just too much for my fragile, little mind.
